St. Louis Cardinals Announce 2022 Minor League Staffs
On Wednesday, the St. Louis Cardinals named their coaching staffs for the minor leagues and also announced their player development & medical personnel for the 2022 season.
The Triple-A affiliate Memphis Redbirds will be managed by Ben Johnson who returns for his fourth season, and he’ll be joined by Dernier Orozco as the pitching coach & Brandon Allen as the hitting coach.
The Double-A, Springfield Cardinals will bring back Jose Leger to manage the club, Darwin Marrero as pitching coach & Tyger Pederson the hitting coach.
Also returning to their managerial roles are Roberto Espinosa (Florida Complex League) and Fray Peniche (Dominican Summer League).
New managers within the organization include Patrick Anderson for the High-A Peoria Chiefs & Gary Kendall at Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals.
A favorite amongst Cardinals fans, Jose Oquendo will serve as Coordinator of Instruction with Tim Leveque coming back named senior pitching instructor & Russ Steinhorn as hitting coordinator.
Also announced were former St. Louis Cardinals Jason Isringhausen & Ryan Ludwick who will be serving as special advisors for the organization.
